The Systems Engineer will be responsible for applied research and advanced engineering in the development of optimized performance specifications required to differentiate Dell system performance from competitors. Must be experienced in design, definition, and implementation of complex system requirements for customers, as well as, analyze existing systems to optimize performance. Ideal candidate has experience in identification of performance deficiencies through root cause analysis and corrective actions. May collaborate with technologists and development management to oversee execution of deliverables by suppliers in an outsourced development model.
Primary responsibilities include a thorough understandingof Powertechnologies (associated with SmartPhones, Tablets, Laptops, Desktops) and it's potential impact on system-level performance. Must be able to coordinate and drive technology providers in the design of assigned system/subsystem to support overall system performance specifications / goals. In addition, responsible for benchmarking, testing and analysis on products during all phases of the development process.
Career Path/Impact:
- Mid-level Architecture team engineering role with broad spectrum of development paths – blends engineering, technology planning, and market planning/strategy with exposure to multiple functions and disciplines in Dell product development.
- High level visibility with linkage to RTS – reports/output a critical component of product launch / RTS and will play pivotal role in streamlining profitability and competitiveness of Dell products
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science
- ≥ 5 years’ experience in Power sub-system performance or system-level performance engineering and optimization
- Experience leadingcross-functional projects / teams (to include technology providers and / or ODMs) using program management skills to include schedule planning and delivery of desired end state.
