Position Description

Boeing is in competition to win a USMC contract to provide advisory and assistance in planning, organizing, staffing, controlling and leading the combined efforts of the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicle Joint Program Office (JPO) civilians, contractor and military personnel. The winning team will include professional program management and technical services for the MRAP family of vehicles with key functional support from Acquisition, Contract Administration, International Programs Support, Systems Engineering, ESOH, Vehicle Systems, GFE, and Test and Evaluation. The team will assist the Government Managers throughout the defense acquisition lifecycle including development, production, deployment, operations, support and storage/disposal of the Cougar, Buffalo, and Mine Resistant All-Terrain Vehicle (M-ATV) variants. Boeing will be required to support systems engineering efforts by providing professional engineers to engage in a structured, disciplined, and documented technical effort to simultaneously design, develop, analyze and evaluate systems products and processes to satisfy the needs of the customer. This requisition is for a manager of the Systems Engineering team. Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees. This position is contingent upon contract award which is expected in March 2012. Position is located in Stafford, Virginia.
