AERO-CA-ED-11:003: T-38 Test Pilot Instructor Category Aviation/Flight Engineering Group Aerospace Group Location CA-Edwards Air Force Base (AERO) Schedule Full Time Job Description The successful candidate will provide all aspects of test pilot instruction in the T-38 aircraft out of Edwards AFB. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Engineering degree desired; Aero or Aero Systems subspecialty preferred. Graduate of a test pilot school required. Previous qualification as a Military Aviator/Test Pilot required. FAA Commercial/Instrument pilot certificate and FAA Class II medical required. Experience: A minimum of 1000 hours first pilot time in tactical jets required. Two years experience as a military Test Pilot required. Flight instruction experience desired. T-38 current or significant experience desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Understanding of aircraft performance, flying qualities, mission systems test techniques required. Candidate must be able to organize and demonstrate effective oral and written communications skills. Candidate must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer-based productivity applications. Candidate must be able to pass the physical and training qualification requirements to provide contract aircrew support, including completion of survival and aviation physiology training.
