Tailored Lending Credit Product Manager

Position Description

Position Summary
The Credit Risk Management group is seeking a highly motivated Credit Product Manager, supporting the lending efforts of the High Net Worth Lending group in the Tailored Lending space. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role to ensure profitable growth through creative product design and positioning, excellence in execution, and superior customer relationship management with a clear focus on credit aspects and credit requirements of the product design as he/she manages and/or launches evolving high net worth lending products for use in the Tailored Lending platform.

Position Responsibilities:
• Leading credit related efforts for all Tailored Lending product expansion projects from concept to implementation. This will include but is not limited to Risk Acceptance Criteria development, Credit Standard development, assessing impact on Risk Rating Methodologies, ALLL and Capital Calc impact, obtaining approval from appropriate Governance Bodies, and presenting risk aspects of new product development to Regulators and Auditors.
• Responsible for expansion of all product types including Commercial Real Estate, Securities Based Lending and other Private Bank lending offerings including alternative asset/collateral types.
• Working closely with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management partners to promote product utilization to ensure end-to-end transactional excellence and increased penetration.
• Identifying, evaluating, sizing and developing new product opportunities.
• Manage financial performance key performance metrics.
• Manage competitive strategies develop reactive strategies.
• Partner closely with various functional groups including Product, Technology, Operations, Services, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Finance.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered with the highest degree of client satisfaction.

Skills Required

Experience
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience with a focus on Risk management and project leadership, including private banking underwriting background, and product development/launch experience.

Skills/Abilities
• Strong Credit background with a deep understanding of underwriting criteria.
• Proven project management expertise and experience in managing cross-functional projects.
• Strong internal and external customer focus.
• Ability to build strong relationships and inspire trust at all levels.
• Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills.
• Able to work in a matrixed organization; leveraging resources across the organization to complete deliverables.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to stakeholders at many levels across the organization.
• Strong analytic and credit skills.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks, accurately and with attention to detail in a fast paced, demanding environment.
• Highly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication, presentation, leadership and influencing skills.
• High energy level and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
• Strong knowledge of the business of banking with an emphasis on risk management.
