Summary of Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position, among others, are
the management of PIMCO clients' tax documents (e.g., W-9's and
W-8's) and the interaction with brokers regarding such
documentation to avoid tax withholding issues, as well as the
management and processing of Give-Up Agreements for futures and
options.
Duties:
•Providing brokers with original W-8's for non-U.S. PIMCO
clients;
•Facilitating the execution and delivery of W-9's and W-8's on
behalf of clients;
•Uploading and managing tax documentation, including W-8's, W-9's
and formation documents, in online MarkIT program;
•Filing and maintenance of tax documentation on PIMCO intranet and
in physical files;
•Work with PIMCO's tax group to help provide guidance to PIMCO
account managers concerning IRS and broker requirements related to
tax documentation;
•Reviewing and commenting on tax forms provided by client prior to
delivery to broker (i.e. make sure tax forms are filled out
correctly);
•Providing other supporting documents requested by brokers in
connection with the opening of accounts (e.g., formation documents
and authorized persons lists);
•Advocating on behalf of PIMCO clients on issues raised by brokers
relating to tax documentation;
•Managing broker demands on clients for tax forms and supporting
documentation; and
•Assisting with the resolution of any withholding that occurs due
to lack of proper tax documentation (i.e. assist with providing the
proper tax forms needed after obtaining from client)
•Managing the execution and processing of Give-Up Agreements for
futures and options (via EGUS or physical paper)
•Liaise with global offices as needed with respect to execution of
four party Give-Up Agreements
•Work with clearing brokers and execution brokers to obtain timely
execution of Give-Up Agreements (electronic and paper).
Position Requirements:
•Four-year college degree required
•Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
•Previous experience with an investment bank or investment advisor
in relation to tax, give-up agreements (via EGUS or paper)
•US Patriot's Act and various Know-Your-Customer/Anti-Money
Laundering requirements
•Candidate must be extremely well organized and must be able to
multi-task in a high paced and high demand environment.
•Experience with MS Excel or other similar database systems is
desired.
