Job Summary
The Tax Manager is responsible for planning and managing all phases of client projects to ensure that quality client service is provided in a timely, responsive, and efficient manner. This individual will perform advanced level services for clients and for all areas within the Firm. The Tax Manager will supervise, review, train, and evaluate all employees at staff and senior levels. This individual will research complex technical questions and will demonstrate a high level of professionalism while enhancing the Firm's image.  Additionally, the Tax Manager will be responsible for aggressively marketing the Firm's services.

Qualified candidates must possess the following:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
•Advanced degree preferred
•CPA license
•Five to seven years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting environment
•Advanced understanding of tax standards as well as knowledge of accounting theory, tax, and audit procedures
•Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
•Advanced understanding of information technology and software applications
•Ability to research technical issues independently and timely in order to resolve issues
•Effective oral and written communication skills
•Strong leadership and business development skills
•Ability to gain clients’ confidence through responsiveness and effective relationship building
•Ability to maintain open lines of communication with other employees

Essential duties and responsibilities:
•Maintain active communication with clients in order to manage expectations and to ensure that deadlines are met
•Review work to ensure quality control
•Research technical problems for the department
•Represent clients with regulatory agencies
•Assist in the preparation of billings, collections, and related discussions with clients
•Plan, prepare and review complex tax returns, financial statements, monthly write-up services and other management services as they arise
•Complete and/or direct research projects in a timely and effective manner
•Plan and organize individual assignments
•Manage work of others through delegation, training and development
•Supervise, train, and evaluate staff to ensure all are fulfilling their responsibilities as well as to assist in their professional development
•Review work-in-progress and staff workload to ensure smooth work flow
•Assist with administrative activities such as planning, developing budgets, and monitoring time
