Tax Manager, Worldwide Tax recruitment
Job Summary:
Manage aspects of the DFS tax function to minimize the global tax liability and ensure compliance with all Federal, state, local and international requirements. Act as internal business advisor to identify and analyze tax issues of individual DFS companies and effectively communicate compliance and cost saving solutions to management.
Reporting Structure:
This position will report to the Director, Tax.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assist with the preparation of the Singapore and U.S. Federal, state and local tax filings. Review tax returns prepared by others.
- Prepare the DFS consolidated financial statement tax provision under IFRS.
- Review of annual tax provision for audited financial statements.
- Review relevant foreign affiliate tax provisions for inclusion in audited financial statements.
- Review or prepare financial statement tax footnotes.
- Review interim tax provisions for correctness and tax planning purposes.
- Coordinate Federal, state and local tax audits of DFS companies.
- Review or prepare responses to tax authority information requests.
- Develop audit strategy.
- Prepare estimates of taxable income of U.S. and Guam partnerships for use by owner’s tax representatives.
- Research domestic and international tax issues and propose tax efficient alternatives to management through clear and effective communication.
- Work on tax projects, both independently and as a team member, dealing with a variety of domestic and international issues.
- Analyze, review and monitor transfer pricing of DFS group companies; prepare and/or coordinate transfer pricing documentation files and work with outside consultants as appropriate.
- Work with BPA to develop tax projections for budgets, forecasts and strategic plans.
- Develop planning ideas to minimize taxes through careful and creative analysis of business structures and transactions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Accounting degree (B.A.) from four-year College; CPA or Masters of Science in Taxation.
- At least 6 years tax experience (corporate, public accounting or combination of both).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills a must. Emphasis on ability to interpret and analyze relevant tax law and summarize findings in non-technical business language for management and internal clients.
- Proficient in use of Excel, Word and tax preparation software. Experience with SAP general ledger software desirable.
- Desire to work in a multi-national environment.
- Self-starter who is able to produce quality results and meet deadlines.
