Tax Senior, North Dorset
EXPERIENCED TAX SENIOR OR SEMI SENIOR SOUGHT BY SMALL ACCOUNTANCY PRACTICE BASED IN NORTH DORSET
Our client is a small friendly accountancy practice and they are looking to appoint a tax senior or semi-senior to join their team.
A tax qualification is not essential, although ATT would be ideal, but extensive experience in small practice tax work is essential as the person will need to be able to work on their own initiative to a large degree.
The successful candidate is likely to have a reasonably solid knowledge of fairly basic tax return preparation but if they also have knowledge of accounts preparation and business tax computations too then that would be ideal, as they could then finish off partnership accounts for example and go on to do the partner’s individual tax returns and understand the connection between the accounts and the partner’s Returns. This will be a very varied role and could vary from a simple P60 and some interest on a Return, to a rental property portfolio or a significant investment portfolio.
There will be a lot of phone contact with clients, and HMRC in particular, so a confident phone manner is needed and the firm would expect returns to be finalised ready for a quick review before they are sent out or just ready to send.
The job will be office based and is full time and would suit someone who lives in North Dorset, as someone who lives too far away is more likely to tire of the drive and move on, and the firm is looking for someone long-term who can grow with the practice. The role comes with 28 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and offers a pleasant and friendly working environment.
