Our client is a major Asset Management Company who is seeking a high caliber and versatile candidate who is able to work in a fast paced environment managing a team in the Derivatives Operations department.
The team is responsible for the administration and settlement of all derivative trades post execution. Covers all aspects of derivative trades which includes but not limited to trade capture, matching, settlement, collateral management, credit events monitoring and disputes.
Key responsibilities:
• Responsible for the effective running of the Derivatives Operations Team, ensuring all derivative trades are processed and contracted accurately and efficiently.
• Responsible for ensuring third parties are informed of all trades and maintaining relationships with custodians, pricing agents and broker counterparties.
• Engage regularly with the Fund Managers as well as liaise with the Legal Team and the new instrument workgroup to ensure our ISDA reflect the instrument requirements and prioritising new Counterparties.
• Managing relationships with external parties e.g. custodians, counterparties, Clearing Agent, Markit, DTCC and Swapswire. Ensuring all third party administrators are made aware of any new instruments prior to trading.
• Working closely with Operations Controls Projects and IT Change Management with respect to system changes and enhancements.
• Keeping abreast of changes to industry standards and requirements, implementing changes to our procedures as required. Sharing such information within the department where applicable.
• Providing assistance to the Compliance and Audit teams when required.
• Responsible for ensuring that the BCP procedures are up to date and effective.
• Responsible for overall management of staff performance and development within the unit.
• Providing KPI's on a monthly basis and assists in budget planning.
The ideal candidate should be degree qualified with at least 8-10 years of investment banking and derivatives operations experience in similar or related field. Experience in direct interaction with business users including senior management, in defining, analysing and agreeing policy for the Asian Pacific markets. Have experience in managing a team and an aptitude for systems would be an advantage.
