Harrington Starr is working with a technology start up who focus on building big data systems to find a Team Lead Java Software Engineer (J2SE, Clojure, Multi-Threading, Big data) to lead a team of developers working on both Java and Clojure applications.
As the Team Lead Java Software Engineer (J2SE, Clojure, Multi-Threading, Big Data) you will need to be a strong technologist and someone who takes pride in keeping up to date with the latest technologies in both Java and experimental technologies. You will be leading a team of up to 6 developers creating Big Data applications that are used to track internet traffic and need to handle a large amount of data. You will need some team leading or mentoring experience and be able to drive a product forward in a small company.
This is a start up firm and you need to be able to drive a company forward, working closely with C-Level people including the CTO and CEO. You will be able to really put your own stamp on the product and the company and benefit from the rewards that flow from this.
As the Team Lead Java Software Engineer (J2SE, Clojure, Multi-Threading, Big Data) you will need:
* Strong experience with Core Java Development - Essential
* Knowledge of concurrency issues - Essential
* Passionate technologist - Essential
* Team lead or mentoring experience - Highly Beneficial
* Experience with Big Data - Beneficial
* Knowledge of experimental technologies such as Scala or Clojure - Beneficial
