Team Manager – Daily IPV recruitment

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will participate in the build out of the GVG Mumbai team for Daily IPV (Independent Price Verification) team and progress to stabilizing and supervising the team. The job will entail working with Regional counterparts in designing the processes, methods, technology solutions; follow the Transition process to ensure that the roles go -Live. This role will demand a steep learning curve to quickly develop a good  understanding of the Daily IPV processes along with technical knowledge of the relevant business line infrastructure (Rates / GFFX / Commodities / Equities / Credit) and develop  judgment that will be required in interpreting, explaining and reporting results/variances and discussing with onshore stake holders in GVG, Front Office and FD. Management of approximately 5-6 people will entail supervisory QA on the IPV tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work with onshore to help design a robust and efficient Daily IPV process during the build out phase. This will entail understanding what needs to be changed in existing processes and how they will work with the newer processes that come in.

• Strong understanding of at least one of Rates / GFFX / Commodities / Equities / Credit derivatives products, markets and the DB business in these products. 

• Ensure seamless migration of the new Daily IPV processes.

• Help in the hiring process for the group—this would require hiring people with the right technical and soft skills with an eye to ensure retention.

• Supervisory QA oversight to maintain negligible internal error rate.

• Liaise with the customer and ensure that the process is running as per the procedures and standards laid down

• Ensure completion/adherence of activity as per standard procedure/key operating procedure.

• Ensure quality/quantity of processing is maintained as per the SLA

• Escalate all issues in time, to the appropriate level, to avoid any adverse impact on the business

• Assisting the team in decision making and taking complete ownership of the situation

• Ensure team work culture is practiced

• Ensure proper back-ups created and assist other teams during contingencies (Staff shortage, high volumes etc)

• Manage a team of 5-6.

Qualification Experience required

Qualification

• Graduates/Post graduates / Masters  in with good academic records

Experience

• 4 to 6 years in valuations or product control or areas in the trade life cycle involving strict daily deliverable routine

• Experience with Bloomberg and Reuters in key markets data sets desirable

• Strong experience with MS Excel financial functions and experience in writing macros.

• Experienced in VBA or an object oriented language like C, C++ etc is a plus

Skills

• Needs to be a self-starter with significant ability to undertake initiatives.

• Strong interpersonal / good negotiations skills are required

• Experience in day to day handling of deliverables vis-à-vis people priorities

• Ability to prioritize and handle different and sometimes conflicting business requests under extreme timeline pressure

• Follow through skills, effective communication skills, ability to confidently handle internal clients, futuristic and innovative approach will be expected.
