Technical Architect
Alexander Black Recruitment is urgently looking for a Technical Architect to join our high profile client.
Our client is a well-known financial technology consultancy which is partnered with several of London’s best known funds. This role involves managing the architecture of all UK projects which include mobile banking payments as well as managing a small team. This role holds serious responsibility as well as a new greenfield product you will help to architect.
You will be working as Technical Architect on development projects as well as:
- Architecture, Design and implementation management
- Managing; Issues, Risks, Assumptions
- Produce planned vs. deviation reports for project schedules
- Identify and evaluate the technologies that will be used for projects based on requirements
- Evaluate and recommend the development methodologies, frameworks and modelling techniques
- Identify and address architectural challenges
- Prepare architectural documents and presentations
- Prepare architectural Roadmaps for organization or customer
- Technology trend analysis
- Translate business strategy into technical vision and strategy
- Ensure that the application design is adequately documented and approved
- Capture customer, organizational and business requirements on the architecture
- Understand what the developers want and need from the architecture
- Team Management
- Resolve technical design or implementation issues and provide direction to the team members
- Mentor junior architects
Candidates MUST have:
- 12+ years of experience in architecture, design and implementation of UI and SOA based services with minimum of 3 years in a Technical Architect role.
- Experience of Java
- SQL
- .NET
- SOA
- Web Development
- XML
- Open Source Technologies
- Expertise in Java/J2EE, Web services, XML, XSD, WSDL, ESB,
- JBI, BPEL
- Expertise in testing tools SOAP UI, JUnit
- Expertise in reporting tools JIRA, BugZilla
- Expertise in versioning tools SVN, Visual Source Safe
- Expertise in governance tools JaxView
- Good knowledge on basic OOPS concepts and design/integration patterns
- Hands on experience in estimating new projects
- Ability to define and implement project processes and procedures
- Manage on-site resources from offshore
- Ability to manage the team of 15+
This role suits an experienced technical architect who is looking to grow and build a team as well as take responsibility for serious projects.
You will be given serious responsibility from day one as well as exposure to financial clients across the market. You will be expected to make board level decision and forecast future development plans. This role will develop into a head of UK technology.
