Technical Architect Job in Brooklyn, New York US
Our client, located in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking a Technical Architect to project to develop the IT Service Delivery Tool Portfolio and Tooling Policy Guide to support future state processes across all Service Offerings based upon industry leading practices.
This will require conducting a deep dive assessment to document the complete inventory of existing Service Delivery Tools (75+) and their functional capabilities across all major ITIL processes including Information Security. Further, this deep dive analysis of the existing tools will evaluate functionality, compare tools, make recommendations, and determine the policy. The IT Service Delivery Tool Portfolio Tooling Policy Guide will highlight instances where there is a duplicate functionality across tools and indicate recommendations to mitigate the overlap. The outcome will also highlight instances per process where there is no existing tool in place and indicate recommendations to fill the gaps.
Main Duties:
- Create a deliverable strategy and approach presentation to confirm deliverable requirements and obtain ITSM management approval before commencing activities
- Conduct deep dive assessment workshops
- Design deep dive methodology
- Work with ITSM Management and stakeholders to determine deep dive sequence, content and attendees
- Create detailed plan for deep dives
- Create facilitation guide for deep dives
- Compile deep dive findings
- Utilize the IT Service Delivery Tool Portfolio Tooling Policy Scorecard (enhance as necessary)
- Create the IT Service Delivery Tool Portfolio Tooling Policy Guide (including but not limited to the following chapters)
- Tool policy portfolio management
- Define/validate tool lifecycle phases (invest, maintain, sunset, retire, etc.)
- Define/validate tools policy maintenance process
- Tools functional evaluation
- Tools comparison
- Tools recommendations for all in scope ITSM processes
Mandatory skills:
- 8+ years of overall experience with a technical background in systems administration or software development
- Extensive ITSM process/tooling experience
- Working knowledge of tools for Service Automation, Service Assurance, and Service Support
- Technical writing experience - including conducting assessments and composing papers
- Experience architecting, implementing, and integrating ITSM solutions (BMC/IBM)
- Experience administering or developing ITSM modules (BMC/IBM)
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, Wintel (Physical, Virtual), Data and Storage (SAN, NAS, Archive), Database Support (SQL Server, Oracle)
- Datacenter Operations experience
- Experience in a large-scale enterprise environment
- Solid leadership, project management, and project planning experience
- Strong analytical decision-making, and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Visio, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project
- ITIL v3 or v2 Foundations certification
