Job Description Overview
Calypso Technology is seeking an Technical Business Analyst to join our organization as a member of our Engineering Team.
This position will be unique in that it will merge both business and technical skills into one role. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and have exposure to programming and system management concepts and a strong interest to learn finance and other business concepts. The selected candidate will join the Performance Management Team that works closely with engineering, product management and sales to define performance requirements for Calypso, set up tests and publishes results and benchmarks for internal and external use. This is a team with growing responsibilities and the selected candidate must be able to drive process improvements to increase productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineering, product management and customers to understand the performance and scalability requirements of deploying mission critical financial applications Design and develop new tools using Java technologies and simple scripting languages
- Assists in the configuration, build, maintenance, automation, documentation and testing of solutions that mirror client requirements, sometimes working on actual client environment as well
- Publish benchmark documentation for customer and prospect consumption
- Participate in release planning with the release committee and the Quality Assurance Team
Skills Requirements:
- BS and/or MS in Computer Information Systems or similar field. Minor in some business field like Economics, Business would be a plus.
- Total work experience in a technical or business analyst role of 4+ years
- Working knowledge of Java, RMI, Linux and Database technologies (preferably Oracle or Sybase), writing shell scripts
- Experience with Java, RMI, XML, C++, UNIX/Linux
- Experience with software tools such as Eclipse,
- Understand the use of technology as a tool to solve business problems
- Working knowledge of finance, especially Capital Markets. The candidate must be willing and able to grasp concepts required to build and deploy applications in the Capital Markets space.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
