Technical Marketing Device Specialist

The Technical Marketing Device Specialist is a Marketing Product Development and Strategy position responsible for helping drive devices, applications, and products through development and testing into launch insuring the ideal customer experience. The position is responsible for many device development aspects that are initiated from the marketing Product Group for both voice and data products and services including: cross-functional issue resolution; monitoring device requirements and compliancy to support our current product and application portfolios; coordination and tracking of devices through evaluation, testing, and commercialization; and representing marketing's interest to our vendor OEMs. A strong tie and relationship with Product Management, Device Engineering, The Device Group, and our device OEMs is necessary to successfully achieve these goals. The Technical Marketing Device Specialist will be responsible for managing the following activities: * Working closely with the Product Management to understand new and existing products and features, assisting in translating these products and features into device needs and requirements and documenting such needs via the USCC TDR Process. * Working with Device Managers to understand and communicate device roadmaps and scheduling updates * Manage the The Product Group portion of the device commercialization process focused on application preloads * Working closely with Device Engineering, Testing and OEMs to resolve device issues (especially those related to applications and products) for all devices including Android, BlackBerry, BREW, Windows Mobile and wireless modem devices * Working closing with internal teams and application partners to resolve application issues * Distribution of pre-commercial handsets to partners for development purposes * Flashing handsets and setting up accounts in CARES for demo, test, and developer devices * Participate in Weekly OEM calls to improve device quality, resolve issues and improve the ideal customer experience * Reviewing OEM Technical Device Requirements during device compliancy reviews * Coordinating device information with Qualcomm Information Services (QIS) and device OEMs * Managing device and application/product issues through resolution in all stages of life cycle * Validating of technical specifications for devices and providing technical support as necessary * Managing OEM feature set RFI processes * Defining and documenting processes and process improvements to accomplish the objectives aboveQUALIFICATIONS: * Wireless industry experiences required * Proven understanding of hardware and software of CDMA wireless devices * Marketing or technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required * Specific technical knowledge and understanding of wireless industry, new technologies, emerging technologies and current wireless technologies including CDMA, EVDO, WiFi, 802.11, Bluetooth, Memory Cards, Audio formats, Video formats, etc. * 2-3 years experience in the cellular industry required. * Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills * Strong written and oral communication skills * Demonstrated commitment to continuous personal improvement of business and leadership skills, including the ability to learn and apply new techniques. * Proven understanding of hardware and software development. * Proficient with standard MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
