POSITION OVERVIEW:
Based in London, part of a global team located in London and the United States, the new colleagues will be responsible for technical product development within institutional clients for all Risk Management Analytics products including RiskManager and BarraOne. We are looking for three new specialists for our growing Technical Product Management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide product vision and direction with the goal of maximizing commercial opportunities for MSCI’s multi-asset class risk platforms
- Prioritize projects while ensuring that required development resources do not exceed budgeted amount
- Write high quality business requirements for product enhancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (composed of groups such as software engineering, research, data development, and quality assurance) in product improvements throughout release cycles
- Synthesize individual client needs into product development themes; articulate innovative solutions that address market needs in a holistic manner
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
- Several years of industry experience, depending on the focus of the role with preference for those candidates with strong backgrounds in:
- Best practices in software development and/or data base design as well as portfolio risk analytics, or
- Portfolio credit risk, credit VaR, counterparty credit risk, and CVA; familiarity with fixed income assets, derivatives, and valuation, or
- “Power users” from client organizations or from analytic providers who also bring vision and passion to how the user experience can be improved through re-design of user interfaces
- Ability to work effectively in geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to explain advanced concepts to audiences of varying technical levels
- Strong interest in capital markets and quantitative finance
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, math, computer science, engineering or other quantitative fields is required; advanced degree (MS, MFE, MBA, PhD) desired but not required
