Technical Program Manager/Program Manager, Cloud Computing Resource Management - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

The area: Operations and IT, Global Infrastructure

When we're not planning and designing our next secret data center, we focus on selecting, negotiating for and acquiring the space, power and networks to expand Google's global reach. Our team works closely with strategic vendors worldwide to support the growth of Google's products and services and to provide the infrastructure that will take the company to the next level.

The role: Technical Program Manager/Program Manager, Cloud Computing Resource Management

As a program manager for cloud computing resource management at Google, you will be central to the advancement of Google's mission. On a daily basis you will be responsible for coordinating across all of Google's Engineering teams to solve some of the most challenging and novel problems in cloud computing. You will work directly with Google's supply chain, data center infrastructure, networking, and software engineering teams to design and deliver the future state of computing resource management within Google.

Your charter will include the automation of compute resource allocation to all software engineering initiatives at Google, the balancing of resource distribution against supply chain, data center infrastructure, network, shared service, and budgetary constraints, and the implementation of tools and policies to optimize resource management across the entire engineering stack at Google. You will seek to redefine the definition of an "on-demand" computing environment at scales the world has not yet seen.

Beyond solid program delivery and technical skills, you should be a professional with experience in software product development, quantitative analytics, and/or supply chain management. You should be a top performer with a rare ability to synthesize strategic solutions to interdependent and broad problems. You should be someone who thrives in a very fast-paced and demanding environment. This role requires an ability to think critically, iterate quickly, provide exceptional thought leadership, and to partner across a wide variety of functions at Google to drive change across Google's Engineering division. You will have a strong internal drive, a tenacious spirit, a collaborative method of working, and deep experience in solving hard problems as simply as possible. In addition, the program manager should be focused at all times on delivering premium service to our internal customers.
