This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Project Leader located in Columbus IN Key Responsibilities: - This position will be responsible for product proceeding technology (PPT) development of heavy duty hybrid propulsion systems and components. - Investigate and integrate hybrid propulsion system components/technology to meet system/component objectives of improved fuel consumption, CO2 reduction, component efficiency, cost and installation. - Manage program schedule and budget to meet targets and goals. - Lead cross-function teams to deliver technical results per project contract requirements. - Engage other Business Units to deliver integrated technical solutions. - Communicate with Value Package Introduction (VPI) teams to ensure applicability of the PPT programs with product plans - Review project with the Management Review Group to get input for setting direction and to update them on development plans and work (PPT Gate Reviews). - This role determines and delivers the future hybrid propulsion system architecture and components for CMI. In developing Hybrid system technology, this role will drive technology development and application of the important subsystems potential including including: System Controls, energy storage, power electronics, transmission interface (Architecture), Energy/Power management Controls, Electric machine technology. Skills: - This role requires a person that can handle multiple inputs (current technology, potential future technology, customer demands, business requirements, legislative requirements, and available resources) and integrates them to create a technology program that delivers a cost-effective, system for production. - As technology, legislation, and the business environment change over time, the program direction must also evolve to support the new requirements. The candidate will need to have demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in requirements. - This role must leverage and drive innovation at key component suppliers. - Intellectual property is a key component of the technology plans. This role needs to disclose new IP, to understand existing IP, and to manage the technology development to within the IP framework. Experience and Education: - Education: Masters or a PhD in an engine, controls or related engineering field - Work experience: 10 years in product development or research. - Experience with hybrid systems/component development, electrical machine design/development, power electronics or embedded controls development is required. - Project and financial management experience desirable understanding of the PPT System Integration work flow is required Compensation and Benefits:
