Technical Project Manager
About the Role
Seeking an experienced Project Manager with experience working on regulatory change projects within the Financial Services Industry, the successful candidate will come from a technical background.
Corporate Operations Group (COG) supports and enhances the value of Macquarie through the creation of an efficient, scalable operating model. COG partners with the businesses to deliver operational excellence through business-aligned and high-quality support services with a focus on managing cost and risk.
The Enterprise Technology Division is part of Corporate Operations Group and supports all of Macquarie with strong business and enterprise-wide solutions. Our portfolio of work spans across significant strategic initiatives, business initiatives and external and regulatory programs.
The Capital Markets Division within the Enterprise Technology Division supports technology solutions for all trading businesses of Macquarie. The Front Office Operations group are responsible for supporting the end-to-end stack used by the trading and other businesses, with support from Infrastructure and Application specialist groups.
We are currently looking for a capable Project Manager with some technical background to join the Front Office Operations team in Sydney. In this role, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders, and be an integral part in the delivery of Enterprise Technology initiatives.
The role will concentrate on, but not be limited to, co-ordinating the transition of a major regulatory reform project to the Operations Support team. Although the role will focus on Front Office services, it will also involve some overlap with Post Trade services.
Specifically, you will be required to analyse what is required to transition the project into the Operations area, liaise with existing IT teams to assist with execution, ensure process is followed and regularly communicate the status of projects to all relevant IT and business stakeholders. You will also be required to work closely with the Program Management team that is executing the project firm-wide.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following;
- Experience with managing projects involving stakeholders from multiple locations
- Experience with managing multiple streams at once, involving multiple applications
- Formal Project Management qualifications
- Technical experience gained from financial markets
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, computer science or equivalent
- Excellent numerical and problem solving skills
- Strong and confident communication
- Ability to work in an environment with changing priorities
- Ability tcao work with clients, development teams, business, senior managers and other team members
- ITIL V3 Foundations Training
- A strong sense of ownership with a passion for delivery and attention to detail
- The willingness to delve into some technical detail in order to successfully deliver
