Technical Project Manager
Our client one of the worlds leading Asset Management companies is looking to recruit a Technical Project Manager to join the Investment Services and Fund Accounting Technology team. This individual will have responsibility for delivery of assigned projects within this portfolio.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle from inception to implementation. Due to the team using a pool of resources both onshore and offshore for business analysis and development, the candidate will be expected to work with different team members of various projects.
This role requires the successful candidates to be experienced in understanding and discussing the technical aspects of the projects as well as having an understanding of the business aspects
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Direct and manage a project team typically across technical/ business disciplines
- Taking ownership and responsibility for all project activity
- Provide common direction for project teams and ensure project goals are consistent
- Primary contact - ownership, responsibility and accountability for success of projects
- Responsible for managing dependencies, constraints and time/resource/cost conflicts across projects
- Effectively identify and manage all sponsors and stakeholders
- Ability to define requirements on smaller projects and take on a PM/BA role
- Ensure project closures occur in accordance with operational acceptance criteria
- Manage and resolve risks and issues to conclusion escalating as appropriate
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of project methodologies and practices (i.e. FSDM, PMI, Prince 2)
- Knowledge of the investment/ asset/ fund management business with asset servicing experience desirable
- Experience of understanding technical and functional specifications
- Experience in working with off shore development teams
- Experience of business process re-engineering, analysis, user requirement gathering, gap analysis workshop facilitation
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the end-to-end business process
- Demonstrate the skill to make appropriate autonomous decisions
- Demonstrates effective problem solving skills
Given the nature of the role you will need to possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work face-to-face with stakeholders and therefore excellent presentation and communication skills are key.
