We are seeking strong Technical and Management Staff to join the IMG Systems Integration team ('SI'). SI partners with Kaiser Permanente Business IT teams to understand their needs provide integrated technology solutions that span across the organization. We develop full applications as well as extensions to vendor-developed applications. We currently have an opening for a Project Manager, a position that directly reports to the Senior Manager / Program Manager of System Integration - Technology Integration and Engineering Services, Emerging Technologies within IMG. The Project Manager is responsible for successful and timely completion and delivery of Infrastructure solutions to strategic emerging technology projects such as the Enterprise Health Information Exchange (eHIE). eHIE is Kaiser Permanente's collaboration with industry-leading healthcare systems to securely exchange electronic health data in a standards-based approach that protects patient confidentiality. Responsibilities of the Project Manager: The eHIE Project Manager will be accountable for managing moderately complex projects or multiple simple projects. Successful candidates will have a proven track record delivering projects through disciplined project management processes and close collaboration with colleagues. Other duties include: - Implement project framework in conjunction with the KP project management methodology (including status reporting and metrics) - Develop and manage project plans which include risk analysis and mitigation plans - Ensure project issues are tracked, managed and resolved - Develop and implement a project communication plan - Ensure cross-track dependencies are identified and managed - Implement change management mechanism to effectively manage project scope - Coordinate with other project managers to identify cross-project dependencies and leverage best practices - Coordinate activities of vendors and subject matter experts as required - Produce regular project status reporting for internal review and project stakeholders - Establish and sustain strong ongoing relationships with KP-IT and business partners Qualifications: This position requires a results-oriented self-starter who can effectively navigate a large organization. The following basic qualifications and skills are required: - Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related field or 4 additional years of work experience -8-10 years of Information Technology experience - Minimum of 5 years of industry experience that includes 4+ years managing implementations of I.T infrastructure projects. - Experience managing projects with I.T. budgets up to $1 million and total project budgets up to $10 million; Project teams up to 15 people, spanning multiple locations and up to 5 interdependent work tracks - Self-starter, independent, results-oriented - Prior project management experience with complex deployment projects; familiar with a variety of middleware and endpoint infrastructures - Excellent communicator with strong customer focus who can work with business sponsors and technologists to articulate business requirements and technology options - Experience with all phases of the project delivery lifecycle including production support. - Required to know or learn KP-IT's project and process methodology and to execute it within the established KP and KP-IT organizational framework and oversight processes. - Skilled in MS Office Productivity Tools and MS Project - Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision. - Demonstrated ability to develop and sustain strong ongoing relationships with client project team staff. Preferred Qualifications: - Prior experience with project delivery in the Kaiser Permanente enterprise is strongly preferred - PMI certification or equivalent - Experience across multiple healthcare disciplines with an emphasis on care delivery applications - Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field
