Technical Regulatory Reporting Manager / Accountant recruitment
My client is one the world's best banks; it provides customers with investment banking, private wealth management and asset management across the globe. One of the best known names in banking, they have an opportunity for a motivated individual to join their Sydney office. This role is in the financial accounting department, primarily focused on regulatory reporting and responsible for the group of entities reporting to the legal entity controller.
The candidate must possess the gravitas to effectively influence and work with front office staff and other internal and external stakeholders and have a track record in doing so.
Responsibilities will focus on:
- Ownership of the daily, monthly and annual ASX regulatory capital monitoring and reporting
- Understanding the capital calculation rules; interact with the ASX
- Ownership of the regulatory financial monitoring and reporting under the AFSL requirements
- MIS Reporting: Preparation of weekly financial analysis of Front Office divisions, including relevant commentaries for local senior management.
- Performing oversight function of the offshore team
- Working with management to review new business activities and implementations
There will be an opportunity to take on further responsibility from other departments related to risk management
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have:
- 6+ years' experience in a Financial Accounting role in the investment banking or brokerage industry
- Financial accounting or regulatory reporting experience with exposure to the Australian global equities markets
- A high level of front-to-back process and product knowledge within an investment bank
- CA, CPA or other equivalent accounting qualification
- Exposure to MIS reporting
- Exposure to APRA prudential financial reporting, exposure to the ASX regulatory environment and working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
- Exposure to working within a deployed function at either the sending or receiving side.
