Technical Writer recruitment
The successful candidate will have the following skills and/or background:
• Bachelor's degree in any relevant field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of financial markets and financial engineering is a definite asset
• Technical Communications certificate is desirable
• Highly skilled in writing technical manuals, both for hardcopy and online distribution - samples will be required upon request. Comfortable applying the methods of topic-based authoring and structured authoring.
• Able to comprehend highly complex computing technology concepts.
• Able to extract information from the software source code of our products.
• Familiarity with mathematical notation.
• Familiar with Web and Windows operating environments (browsers, applications, workstations, networks, servers, databases).
• Fluent user of word processing, desktop publishing, and online-help development software (e.g. experience with tools such as FrameMaker, MS Word and Flare; and familiar with file formats such as XML and DITA).
• Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle; 5+ years working in a software documentation development environment strongly preferred.
• Able to effectively communicate documentation problems and solutions to staff and management.
• Able to meet project schedules and quality standards.
