BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW
This role is within the Futures Technology business unit, and physically sits with the business for the purpose of enabling the team to be successful in consulting the business about technology solutions.
The role is focused on a web based reporting and workflow platform which consists of technologies including Java, Struts, Sybase, DB2, Spring, Tomcat and Hibernate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Technology Services Analysts work directly with external clients to install and integrate Goldman Sachs developed Prime ClearingTechnology applications with systems at the client site such as reconciliations and the ability to electronically report trade instructions to Goldman Sachs. They also provide technical consulting and systems support to all existing institutional and hedge fund clients through a high-end Client Technology Solutions team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with relevant technical skills to learn the clearing and execution business and work directly with external clients while interacting with our business unit on a daily basis.
Principal Responsibilities
• Provide technical and business leadership for system-wide solution for Prime Clearing Technology.
• Own, solve and support internal and external client technical issues as they pertain to the Futures and Prime Brokerage businesses
• Participate as the Technology lead in Client on-boarding processes
• Collaborate with various business and technology groups to deploy proprietary client solutions
• Regular data analysis of client activity and positions with regard to reconciliation and client trade feeds
• Blend technical and business knowledge with communication skill to bridge the gap between business and various technology groups.
• Interact with internal and external groups to provide the best technical solution and support for clients.
Development Prospects
This is a high exposure role requiring regular communication with senior business personnel as well as very high profile clients. This role is within the team which is at the centre point of decisions made with regards to the Prime Clearing Client facing technology.
There is ample opportunity to maintain skills through additional training in our in-house training programme ‘Goldman Sachs University’ with classes ranging from all aspects of technology to business courses covering multiple asset classes.
Basic Qualifications
• Solid understanding of Transact-SQL and Stored procedures
• Perl and UNIX scripting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong business analysis skills.
• Direct client support experience beneficial
• Strong team player yet simultaneously able to work on independent initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of Financial Markets/Clearing specifically in the derivatives area an advantage
