Technology Solutions Lead – Business Process Consulting – Banking & Financial Services industry recruitment
Cognizant's Business Process Services business unit conceives, builds, and delivers end-to-end business process solutions. The portfolio of solutions includes high-volume traditional Business Process Outsourcing services as well as next-generation solutions that leverage automated, cloud-enabled delivery and innovative commercial models to provide clients with significant levels of savings and business value. Within BPS Cognizant is creating a consulting capability focused on a series of niche areas in which it wishes to establish market leadership. The role of consulting will be to help identify opportunities to deliver a full range of Cognizant services (including outsourcing), through well run, fact based projects which diagnose client operational issues and develop a future operating model.
This person will come from a technology outsourcing background. His / her role is to translate business requirements into technology needs, and understand the technology marketplace and fit with existing solutions.
More specifically this person should:
• Own our understanding of the technology market, in terms of what solutions are available, who uses what software, what the pros and cons of the different available solutions are
• Own our technology vision for the focus area
• Contribute to consulting projects
• Contribute to decisions on which platforms to invest in. Work with the BPaaS technology team to define the technology architectures for specifics business process solutions. This will include working with our internal and external stakeholders incl. partners, clients, and prospects as needed to define the technical roadmap for our platform solutions.
• Be responsible for evaluating client environments--applications and platforms--for partnership and/or acquisitions.
• Working closely with the offshore Solution Delivery Lead, this person will ensure that the delivery team follows the technical roadmap to deliver the appropriate quality of deliverable.'
• Establish Technology Leadership: Provide technical direction to solution development and product management teams. Evaluate technology options and lead build vs. buy decisioning. Finalize technology solution, including its technical architecture in ''build'' scenarios, in the context of the business problem and business solution that addresses it. Work closely with the platform engineering team, developing and/or validating logical designs and translating design into engineering requirements
• Platform evaluation: Evaluate client platforms and applications for potential lift and shift. Identify gaps and concerns that will need to be bridged to bring in their applications into our domain. Present solutions that will address these concerns over a realistic period of time. Assess such lifted platforms for broader usage including but not limited to multi-tenancy options.
• Analyzing and assessing the technology market within the Banking Financial Services industry with Cognizant's leadership team to determine which BPO offerings are likely to best address the present and future state issues facing C-level leadership executives in this sector
• Support the shaping and selling of BPS consulting projects. Work closely with Consulting Director and others to identify opportunities to sell billable consulting services in BPS focus areas, and then support the sales process by listening to client issues and framing a consulting project which will support their resolution.
• Contribute to delivering successful BPS consulting projects. Hands on involvement in consulting projects, bringing clear technology expertise and thought leadership to the team. This will include heavily influencing the project process to gain buy in from IT stakeholders, as well as supporting objective, fact based analysis, and the creation of quality deliverables which will typically include Target Technology Solution, Business Case, Implementation Road Map.
• Support the link with BPaaS Platform Solution leads to identify future solution opportunities by conducting market research, industry analysis, and customer and prospect interaction.
Skills
Candidate Profile:
Technology Solutions Lead will need to be able to answer, or at least provide plausible hypotheses for, the following questions in the given industry focus area:
• How could technology support the future process model?
• What does the software market look like in this space?
• Are there already platforms which might be relevant to the client's needs?
• What are other clients doing - who has what technology?
• What are the costs of the different technology options?
• What is the time to implementation?
Note: as a part of the interview process, candidates for this role should be prepared to discuss their views on the first three questions for their given focus area'
• Technology expertise - extensive software product experience, with experience in technical management of platform products within the Banking Financial Services industry. Hands-on coding experience a plus. Architecture background, can link technology options and architectures to business problems. Well versed in legacy and new technologies, their pros and cons and relative limitations in reference to building new platforms for clients
• Knowledge of operational and security concerns related to SaaS, Multi-tenancy, Data Outsourcing and solutions addressing the same
• Experience with building Software-as-a-Service or Business-Process-as-a-Service or Platform Solutions
• Has a history of working with external technology partners
• Engineering background, preferably in Computer Science.
Travel will vary depending on customer and prospect requirements, but expect at least c.60%. Ability to travel to the client site as needed.
