TRISA OE Lab Terrain Engineer will require extensive professional level GIS experience and will support ongoing data development, spatial analysis, and cartographic output for the development of models, simulations, and simulators within the Live, Virtual, Constructive and Gaming environments in the Army MS domains. The position requires working in a team environment under the direction of a Senior Terrain Engineer. Minimum requirements are 8+ years of GIS experience with BA/BS degree from an accredited College or University in Geography, Geology, Planning, Engineering, or related field, with extensive experience in the operation of GIS software. Candidates must also express a willingness to expand their skills, be adaptable to and have the ability to work within a team environment.

Responsibilities
- Generate and manage geospatial databases.
- Assists in procurement of new data from archived sources, and through data extraction
- Assist in developing geographic database structures, tables, forms and reports.
- Use a variety of simulation database construction systems to produce complex terrain databases that support a variety of constructive and immersive simulations.
- Beta test new releases of terrain database generating software tools
- Respond to user requests for custom maps, charts, graphs, GIS analysis, GIS projects and related information.
- Work cooperatively with other office staff and/or Project Managers to complete assigned work.
- Ability to manage several projects concurrently

Required Skills:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited College or University in Geography, Geology, Planning, Engineering, or related field
- Solid understanding of technical application, concepts, principals, and theories in GIS.
- Willingness to think 'outside the box', with creative and strong problem solving skills.
- Adaptable to rapid change in position requirements and demanding time tables with a high attention to detail, with an ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effectively communicate with the terrain team, simulation developers, other departments, and clients.
 - 8+ years' experience with ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop (9.x, 10.x) is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a SECRET clearance and able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
