TOOLROOM BENCH HAND - Birmingham
Job Description:
To build, repair and maintain multi-stage progression press tools to fine tolerances, with the target of enabling them to run successfully "first-time" in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
oBuilding and developing new press tools - progression and single stage - feeding back into Designs to update and improve technical drawings and documentation.
oProducing new tools, repairs and maintenance to pre-determined standard times and estimates.
oUsing recognised problem solving techniques to analyse tool problems.
oStrip and rebuild of tools for maintenance/ repair and re-grind.
oOrganising logistics for Spares/ repairs.
oAnalysis and actioning of tool problems in Production.
oManagement of the tool tryout process.
oMentoring of trainees and apprentices.
oPromoting and utilising the Company's Health and Safety requirements.
oChampioning the use of appropriate PPE.
oPromoting and striving to improve 5s Standards.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
oApprentice trained.
oAppropriate Craft or Technician Qualification.
oFlexible, adaptable and multi-skilled.
oGood communication, planning and scheduling skills.
oAttention to detail.
oAbility to read, translate and feedback technical information.
oGood numeracy and literacy skills.
oA "team" player.
oAbility to work successfully on own initiative.
Preferred:
oPrevious Press toolmaking experience.
oPrevious experience of working with Tungsten Carbide tooling.
Salary £22000-23000 per annum
