Biochemical Toxicology and Toxicokinetics is offering a summer internship opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to become a member of the group and work in a team environment to aid in the metabolomics reference database project. The intern will work with the team to analyze NMR reference spectra, to annotate spectral features, and to set them up into databases; he/she will also work with metabolomics software developers to test the database for chemical structure identification, and to assist the development of quantification based on deconvolution. This is a 9-11 week internship, beginning June 2012. Housing will be provided for students who meet the distance requirement. Qualifications Required: Candidate must be currently pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline. Candidate must have good knowledge of chemical structures of small biological molecules, and their metabolic pathways. Must be available for a period of 9-11 weeks beginning June 2012. Preferred: Knowledge of NMR instrument is helpful but not necessary; however, candidate needs to acquire the skill to interpret NMR spectra. Candidates with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 or higher. Our employees are the key to our company's success.
