Trade Control Manager recruitment

 This position will lead this team by example, striving for industry best practice in all facets of the business operation, people management within the team and relationships with other areas of the group.

Management Responsibilities:

-        lead and manage a high-performing team;

-        provide coaching for junior members and mentoring for more experienced members of the team

-        ensure the highest standards of control in the commodities trading environment;

-        ensure the team delivers responsive management information to the front office, management and trading compliance officer;

The team will provide real-time front-line control and management information for management and traders. This includes daily profit and loss measurement, trading exposure reporting, and risk reporting. Because of the unique position of the team in the middle of commercial operations, the team will also support broader commercial activities. 

-        report timely and accurate daily market exposure and profit and loss for a trading book

-        provide routine analyses of book performance to the traders

-        use knowledge of the trading book’s activities to understand and explain trading activities and strategies

-        measure and providing insights into commercial performance

-        monitor traders’ adherence against their delegated authority

-        spot and remedy any problems with relevant data, and with trading positions

-        contribute to new business initiatives, systems or process improvement projects

Skills Experience

-        Working knowledge of trading and derivatives

-        Robust interpersonal communication skills

-        Ability to act quickly and decisively in a complex and changing environment

-        Ability to prioritise and cope with ambiguity and uncertainty

-        Experience of staff selection, development and motivation

-        Ability to drive a team to meet deadlines
Knowledge of control processes applicable in a trading / regulated environment
Familiarity with asset commercial performance measurement concepts

-        Evidence of superior commercial or mathematical ability

-        Full command of English (written and spoken). Knowledge of any other mainstream European language would be an advantage.
