Trade Matching Clerk – suitable for an A level school leaver recruitment
The London Metal Exchange (LME) is a world renowned ‘open outcry’ trading floor which facilitates the trading of futures and options contracts in a wide variety of different metals. EDF Man are a listed ‘Ring Member’ and a large portion of your time would be spent in this London Institution, one of the trading floors of its kind.
This is an entry level role for someone of A Level standard or equivalent. You need to be naturally numerate with a keen attention to detail. You will enjoy being part of a sociable team and thrive under pressure.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter and match trades into the system in a timely manner.
- Conduct the end of day reconciliations.
- Resolve trade discrepancies and report any differences to the traders.
- Calculate the traders’ profit and loss and keep track of their books.
- Record trades executed across the ring at the LME.
- Provide feedback and pricing information from the ring to traders.
- Ad-hoc support and administrative duties as requested by the traders.
- Work efficiently and diligently, ensuring deadlines are met.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Strong ‘A’ Level results (or equivalent) required. Strong Mathematics results would be particularly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Highly accurate and take pride in your attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Willingness to undertake the Chartered Institute of Securities Investment (CISI) qualification.
- Enjoy working within a team, happy to contribute and assist where possible.
