TRADER - US TREASURY CASH BONDS FUTURES p

This position is working on the buyside at one of the oldest money management firms in the United States, with currently approximately $135bn AUM. The company with front and back offices located in the greater NYC area is seeking a Fixed Income Rates Trader who can add immediate value as trader of U.S. Treasury cash bonds and futures. p
p

p
If hired, you will join a team of dedicated investment professionals managing approximately $70bn in fixed income assets. Ideal candidates will have a rigorous academic background, strong analytical and relative value skills and a minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant buy side trading experience. Candidates should also possess a strong background in cash, futures and options trading. CFA/MBA certifications and sell side experience are a plus. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be passionate about investing, intellectually curious, a strategic thinker and a team player. p

RESPONSIBILITIES: p
p
- Manage portfolio durations by actively hedging trades in other products that have interest rate risk p
p
- Knowledge of relative value, with experience applying and implementing that knowledge when suitable p
p
- Experience identifying and implementing alpha generating opportunities in the product space. p
p
- Knowledge and experience in building and maintaining sell side dealer relationships with brokerage counterparties that trade with the firm p
p
- Treasury and futures trading experience, with the ability to "hit the ground running" p
p
p
p
REQUIREMENTS: p
p
- This role will interact with all sector Portfolio Managers (US Credit, EM Credit, Mortgages, Rates, CMBS, etc.) so top notch communication and interpersonal skills are a necessity. p
p
- Approximately 2-5 years of rates trading experience p
p
- The ideal candidate will probably have a buy side background but for a top notch individual, a sell side background could possibly work as well . p
