Trainee Analyst, Covered Bonds – London recruitment

Fitch Ratings, one of the World's leading Ratings agencies is seeking a recent graduate with a flair for financial analysis. We currently have an opening for a Trainee Analyst within covered bonds.

Fitch’s covered bonds team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new covered bonds issued on behalf of financial institutions in Europe as well as in Northern America. Fitch currently rates covered bonds issued under 125 programmes from 101 different institutions.

Job Description:

At Fitch you can expect first class training delivered by our highly experienced analysts as well as through external and internal training courses. You can also expect support in attaining further professional qualifications such as your CFA, subject to ongoing performance. We will train you in the fundamental skills of credit analysis and develop you into an effective credit ratings analyst.

As a trainee analyst, you will:
- become familiar with Fitch policies, procedures, criteria, methodologies and models.
- support the primary analyst in the credit analysis and the drafting of credit committee submissions. You will also assist in the development of rating criteria
- maintain responsibility for up-to-date information on dedicated databases
- assist in the drafting of credit analysis reports and press releases.

Person Specification:

You will have a strong academic track record and be a recent graduate in a numerate subject, ideally related to finance or economics.

You must have excellent communication skills and be able to deliver clear and concise analysis in all forms of English. Additional fluency in another European language would be an advantage but is not essential.
