Corporate Financial Services (CFS) is part of the Business and Private Banking (BPB) business unit of the Commonwealth Bank. The CFS team serves over 12,000 clients with complex financial needs and over $10m in revenue. The division is well placed to provide medium and large companies with access to a wide range of financial services with approximately 800 professionals in nearly 50 locations across Australia.
The Industry Banking Specialists team (IBS), which is part of CFS, provides fresh thinking and expertise in the following key critical areas of our clients' businesses:
- Working capital management with flexible and innovative Transaction Banking solutions;
- Capital expenditure management with our range of Asset Finance solutions; and
- Industry insights to help our clients navigate changing market conditions.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The primary focus for this pivotal and highly important Transaction Banking Specialist - Corporate Banking (BDM) role, involves the identification, pursuit and generation of new business opportunities across multiple transactional banking solutions (including cash management, working capital and e-commerce) with existing and new to bank clients focusing on theCorporate Banking market in Sydney. To achieve this you will develop close working relationships with key Corporate Banking clients and internal stakeholders, gaining a detailed understanding of their business needs in order to provide the right Transaction Banking solution so to optimise sales opportunities and the Bank's profitability.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
To be considered for this challenging, yet exciting opportunity you will have;
- Previous experience and a proven background in Business Development and increasing business in the business, and/or commercial/corporate banking space or a related financial services business.
- This previous experience will be in a successful sales/business development, relationship management, product and/or client service role.
- Proven experience and expertise in working on 'new to bank' client acquisition ideally.
- It is preferable that you have previous experience in Transaction Banking, and sound Transaction Banking product knowledge.
- Having existing business relationships in Transaction Banking will be highly advantageous.

- You will be a highly motivated individual who has the ability to think outside the square and who is a self-motivated self-starter.
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent planning, presentation and organisation skills, and you have an ability to build lasting business relationships.
- You have the ability to understand the client's business in order to deliver timely and professional financial solutions in support of business objectives and client's needs.
- You have strong negotiation skills, a real CAN do attitude, and will have a real passion and hunger to drive and build new sales, while delivering exceptional customer service within a highly team-orientated environment.
