Transition Manager, ASO/VP, Portfolio Trading Group recruitment

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The transition management business provides a service for institutional clients to transition their assets from a legacy to target structures.  Our typical client will be a European pension fund, which has decided to terminate an existing investment mandate and requires this be transitioned into a new target investments.  The transition management business will provide the optimal route to effect this change, reducing risks and costs associated in making large scale investment changes.  This process involves the planning; co-ordination; risk management and execution of all the required moving parts to facilitate this change.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The transition manager will be responsible for managing transition events, which will include liaising with the client; planning and preparation of the event, coordination of transition deliverables and execution of the asset transition.  Whilst not directly engaged with transition assignments the transition manager will also take an active role in the marketing and sales of the transition product

Primary role involves:
- Managing the project deliverables for each transition event
- Preparing project plans and managing the necessary documentation
- Managing the client setup process and preparation of necessary documentation
- Managing the co-ordination and deliverables of custodians and asset managers
- Operating the AIM order management system, including the preparation of accounts, benchmarks and rebalancing of portfolios
- Trade execution of fixed income orders within the AIM system
- Managing the settlement reconciliation between POMS, trading desks, and custodian
- Maintaining a client portfolio
- Researching client leads and arranging marketing meetings
- Direct selling of the product to clients and internal leverage channels

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Being approved (registered) person in the UK (CF30)
- Solid experience of transition management
- Have a working knowledge of equities and fixed income markets
- Ability to demonstrate good quality project skills
- Skill and knowledge in working with Bloomberg and Excel
- Proven sales experience
- Ability to self-manage and have a flexible approach to responsibilities
