Hands on Manager of High Frequency Trading Development
The successful candidate will lead a dynamic Front Office, eCommerce IT application development team and will be facing off to senior traders in America. The development team work very closely with their clients and projects are mainly focused on development of new cutting edge, strategic, low latency electronic trading solutions for new business initiatives as well as enhancements to existing components to improve functionality, control, and efficiency.
The eCommerce team remit includes price formation, quotes publication, connectivity to various exchanges and vendors, trade requests (auto and manual RFQ), trade execution and STP to FO risk systems. The emphasis is on improving latency and capacity across the complete quote/trade lifecycle and the ideal candidate would have significant experience leading the design and development of low latency systems.
The role is a senior team leader role and the candidate will be individually responsible and accountable for his team projects and therefore requires self motivation, enthusiasm and excellent management and communication skills. The candidate will also be facing off to and managing the communication and interaction with senior America Front Office clients and so Front Office experience is a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate is expected as team leader to drive process change within the America team and influence process change across the global eCommerce team, in particular driving and implementing Agile development cycle, close engagement with the business and tight version control and release procedures. Another area of focus is the design and implementation of both unit and integration automated test tools using a combination of built in and off the shelf tools.
The role is very much hands on and will also involve technical aspects with the team leader expected to get involved in the analysis (requirements, functional and technical specs), design, development, implementation, testing, deployment and support (i.e. the whole software development lifecycle).The majority of the development is done in C++ / Linux / Unix.
