Transportation Specialist Job in El Paso, Texas US

This position is responsible for leading and managing transportation operations. This includes but is not limited to assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, managing and developing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and developing recommendations which support the company’s business objectives.  This position will work closely with the Logistics Manager, as well as cross functionally with Planning, Customer Service, Warehousing, and Import/Export Departments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

  

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or experience:

 

·         BA/BS degree with 3-5 years of experience in Transportation Management, Distribution Operations/Supply Chain.

·         Experience with NAFTA and overall trade compliance.

·         Experience developing and managing operating budgets.

·         Experience with small parcel, LTL, FTL and ocean.

·         PC literate including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access-Database.

·         Bilingual would be a plus.

·         Proven track record of negotiating contracts and building transportation supplier partnerships

·         Proven track record of reducing transportation spend while improving service

·         Ability to work cross functionally to implement programs and resolve issues

·         Ability to develop transportation metrics and analytical tools to improve transportation performance

·         Must be a high energy team player with a desire to learn and grow in the position and within the company
