Treasury Funding Controller Senior Manager

The Glasgow Finance Division helps senior management and its individual business units manage the firm's risk by implementing financial controls over our business activities. The division is crucial to safeguarding the firm's franchise, reporting on current performance, and evaluating business opportunities.

An opening exists for a Senior Manager to join the Treasury Capital Markets (TCM) Funding Controller team in Glasgow. The TCM Funding Controller team is part of Global Funding Control (GFC) and is responsible for reporting and product control functions for daily and monthly TCM PL and Balance Sheet. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to all aspects of the Treasury function whilst leading a large team.

Functional Oversight:

Daily:
• Oversight of daily reporting of the Treasury PL for a wide variety of Treasury managed products. Comprises:
o Review of Daily PL and escalation of issues to Senior Management
o Coordination with global counterparts and other controllers to validate daily reported PnL
o Preparation of commentary on the drivers behind daily revenue movements
o Validation of any currency exposure arising from daily PL movements.

Monthly:
• Review and substantiation of the Treasury Balance Sheet and Income Statement and escalation of issues to relevant global reporter
• Responding to monthly revenue and balance sheet movement commentary requests
• Preparing month end summary reporting to meet WSP requirements

Line Responsibilities:
• Leading a team of 8 FTE with 2 Manager direct reports
• Ensuring coverage plans and training requirements are met for the team

Ad hoc:
• Supporting Corporate Treasury as their reporting and business requirements change

This is not an exhaustive list of tasks, and responsibilities may change in line with the team and business needs.

Skills Required

Qualification: The candidates would ideally be a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) and have a relevant degree or equivalent experience.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial.

Attention to detail and accuracy are both essential, and the successful candidates should have a strong sense of urgency, accountability and ownership.

The ideal candidates should have the ability to think critically, challenge accepted processes, and suggest alternative solutions.

Leadership: Previous experience of line management in a risk and control environment is required.

Skills Desired

Previous Treasury experience is desirable but not essential.
