U.S. Economist – New York recruitment

JOB DESCRIPTION

A financial services organization is seeking to add a mid-level economist to their international economic research division. The candidate will hold an exceptional education background with exceptional professional achievements. The selected candidate will be expected to apply macro-economic and econometric models, developing forecasting models, producing original economic research and market analysis. The candidate will be expected to present the groups forecasts and research to external clients.

Required of the candidate:

• Traveling to meet contacts in private and public sectors

• Work on publications focusing on European Macroeconomic analysis

• Producing cross country comparison pieces across economies

Qualifications:

• 5-9 years in economic professional experience                                                                                                                                               

• Experience at Intergovernmental Organization or Central Bank

• Excellent academic achievements at MSc level or above                                                                                                                                                                         

• Prior experience with macroeconomic, FX, and/or interest rate modeling required

• Insurance industry experience helpful

• Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral
