UK; Senior Finance Manager – Life Insurer. recruitment
My client is actively seeking a Senior Finance Manager, reporting to the Head of Central Finance and will be responsible for responsible for the management accounting, reporting, planning and analysis and the expense management processes.
The role will manage financial closing process, ensuring a robust control environment is maintained, and provide key support to the Head of Central Finance and the team during the planning and forecasting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Full line management of a small team including recruitment, setting individual and team objectives in the context of wider departmental objectives and ensuring appropriate development of team members.
- Preparing quarterly management accounts for the Group, including Board reports and consolidated result schedules. This includes the preparation of monthly accounts for Financial Telemarketing Services, providing financial Board packs and analysis to support decision making processes.
- Expense management, implementing and maintaining a framework for reporting on and controlling business expenditure, ensuring that budget holders are appropriately supported and challenged towards meeting expense targets.
- Central coordination of budgeting and forecasting activities, quarterly updates and preparation of the annual five year business plan.
- Acting as liaison between local Finance teams and Group to produce and submit business plans and budget tables.
- Responsible for the development of activity based cost models used for analytical allocation and business planning purposes and providing input into capital models.
- Improving and refining reporting and forecasting processes to reduce dependencies on non-core systems.
Requirements:
• Qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA accountant with significant experience of the financial closing process, demonstrated by the delivery of management accounts and analysis for a Group of companies.
• Experience of the budgeting and forecasting processes, including financial modelling and analysis.
• Experienced people manager with excellent prioritisation, communication and presentation skills in order to deliver financial information to numerous stakeholders in both France and the UK.
• Strong analytical skills and a good grasp of fundamental accounting principles including familiarity with UK GAAP accounting.
• Experience of statutory financial reporting would also be an advantage.
