All the primary duties within this document will be performed according to established policies, procedures and guidelines within the department and the Medical Center .

JOB SUMMARY:

**Works under the supervision of the Service Line Manager and Lead Tech. Performs Diagnostic Ultrasound procedures as ordered by the physician to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

1. Performs all diagnostic Ultrasound procedures per standard protocols under the supervision of a Radiologist for neonatal through geriatric patients.

2. Completes examinations by documenting all appropriate procedural related information.

3. Provides for patient's physical and emotional needs in a wide variety of circumstances.

4. Transports patient as needed for all sections of the Radiology Department.

5. Provides all customers with information pertinent to their exams.

6. Performs/documents QA and QC per section protocol.

7. Performs all duties necessary to ensure the harmonious operation of the Ultrasound section.

8. Demonstrates standards of performance (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that support patient satisfaction and principles of service excellence.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a two-year degree in an approved Radiology program or work experience recommended by the approved licensing agency.

2. Licensure / Certifications: American Heart Association HS (Heart Saver) required: Some departments have additional advanced CPR requirements as listed on staff annual education record. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Must maintain and be in good standing with the accrediting body for the specialty registry within one year of employment.

3. Experience: One to two years radiology experience preferred.
