Underwriting Support Representative recruitment
Responsibilities:
• On behalf of underwriters, this role requests to collaborate on the following:
• Screen and clear of business
• Assist during the course of the underwriting process (location set, pricing, USF, quote and binders forms etc.)
• Update policy status in the systems
• Identify and report all associated bookings in the systems (premium and commissions, taxes and terrorism lines)
• Scan and upload all associated information into systems
• Create and maintain physical binder files
• Contract management and maintenance:
• Finalise policy lines in the system
• Responsible for all 'Manhattan' entries during the policy period, including the processing of endorsements agreed by underwriters
• Update and amend bookings accordingly. These activities require a good understanding of the business
• Premium control for supported underwriters: constant monitoring of due dates, monthly premium control reporting , reminders to brokers
• Terrorism Pools: create entries according to declaration form/leader’s documents, process bookings accordingly
• Taxes: constant monitoring of the correct handling and the payments received
• ES Brokers: chase missing license numbers and update Manhattan
• Act as contact for the accounting department for allocation of payments and inquires
• Support the quarterly closing process which requires a number of checks and subsequent adjustments in 'Manhattan', for example: profit commission, no claim bonus, pipelines, released bookings without value dates, open bookings etc.
• Carry-through monitoring and system clean-up jobs (MCs)
• General support:
• International trade control checks
• Liaison with the Cerebro team to set up new insured/broker company details into our system
• File maintenance and archiving
• Interaction with other parties:
• Permanent interaction with CorSo underwriters.
• Interdepartmental contacts within Corporate Solutions: Products, Claims, Contract Services, and a close cooperation with the accounting department
• Attend meetings where appropriate
• In addition to the internal functions (system handling, internal contacts) the function includes contacts with brokers and clients via phone, fax and e-mail (deal related communication to clients/broker is done/led by the respective underwriter)
Requirements:
• This demanding position requires accuracy, reliability and rapid reaction as well as a personal interest in identifying and grasping where and how issues are interrelated.
• Conscientiousness and reliability are indispensable qualities when handling routine jobs as well as when dealing with exceptional and special cases.
• Various tasks need to be carried out under pressure, and sometimes simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a team is crucial: Co-operation with employees of different levels of experience and different professional backgrounds.

• Irregular workload, occasionally hectic and rapid responses required

Educational background and Professional experience:
• Levels or equivalent is a must however University degree is preferred
• Strong relevant professional expertise and experience specifically in an administration or underwriting assistant capacity (insurance experience desirable)
• Fluent English required, other languages are an advantage

• Highly motivated individual with a performance orientated approach
• Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong Excel skills in particular
