Unit Head of Credit Structuring & Analysis
Our client is a leading international bank with a rich history of success both within the Middle East and global markets. With strong business lines in Personal, Investment, Corporate and International banking, they are in an excellent position to continue their development in both the short and long term.
They are currently looking to recruit a Unit Head of Credit Structuring Analysis. Sitting at a Senior Manager level, this role will answer through to the head of this division and have overall responsibility for this specialism for the Commercial Bank Group.
The scope of the role covers the Credit Structuring Analysis function for the credit portfolio of the Commercial Banking Group The primary focus will be on establishing an active credit portfolio management (structuring, analysis, risk mitigation etc) function for this business unit.
Daily responsibilities will be varied and will include:
- Review and sign off credit proposals prior to submission to the credit chain. Ensure quality of proposals is adequate to ensure proper risk assessment and maintain sufficient credibility with the credit chain.
- Authorise transactions, excesses, disbursal of facilities etc within delegated limits.
- Oversee and ensure the timely availability and integrity of MIS information reports related to Credit portfolio.
- Work closely with Coverage/Product teams, actively participating in the account planning / strategy process to identify priority relationships and associated credit product needs.
- Achieve other performance criteria as agreed from time to time such as Return on Assets, RAROC and economic profit.
- Assist in managing the Credit Portfolio and new extensions of credit to minimise the loss of income either through non-accruing loans or charge-offs.
- Active portfolio optimisation, including downside risk reduction and upside economic value optimisation
- Acting as a central point for decision making on portfolio management actions.
Applicants will need to demonstrate a strong knowledge and proven track-record in Commercial Banking Credit Analysis, Structuring and Credit Risk Assessments. They will have to have a good understanding of the relevant products including trade finance products (letters of guarantee/credit/trust receipts) and funded facilities such as overdrafts, revolving facilities, term loans, structured finance). Man management experience will also be key.
