UNIT SERVICE ASSOCIATE (SICU/Ellison 4, Per Diem)

Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Perioperative nurse and the Team Leader, the Operating Room Assistant is responsible for transporting patients, cleaning Operating Rooms, maintaining a clean environment, moving equipment, delivery of specimens, second scrubbing PRN, and other duties as assigned. The ORA functions as a member of the Perioperative Nursing team who has specific knowledge, skills and training to work in an Operating Room Environment. Hospital setting, specifically and Operating Room environment which requires the wearing of surgical scrub attire which includes but is not limited to scrubs, hat, mask, gloves, goggles, booties, and gown. Fluctuation in temperature is frequent, as well as the handling of body fluids, sharps and tissue. Fast paced environment. Requirements ?High school graduate or equivalent ?Able to read, understand and write English ?Successful completion of Hospital Orientation ?Successful completion of Departmental Orientation and Training ?Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently ?Ability to able to push stretcher with patient weighting up to 250 pounds independently ?Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 6 hours) ?Ability to comprehend written directions for mixing cleaning supplies, and ordering supplies ?Ability to meet competencies of second of scrub Shift Variable Rotating Shift
