Job Description:
Local Kern County manufacturing company is seeking a Benefits Specialist with strong HR knowledge. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Manage the evaluation, planning and administration of health, retirement, and wellness programs.

Develop measurements and assess effectiveness of benefits and wellness programs in meeting overall goals and objectives.

Organize and conduct 401(k) committee meetings.

Manage relationships with providers, brokers, and vendors. Direct, oversee and quality-check the development of benefit proposals.

Conduct open enrollment develop communication around plan changes, deadlines, etc.

Contribute to employees understanding of benefit and wellness programs by developing communication materials and conducting employee meetings as needed.

Provide project management for wellness program and events, taking full ownership of coordinating event logistics, timetables, communications, and other deliverables.

Monitor plans to ensure compliance with federal and state laws including HIPAA, ERISA and COBRA. Ensure government reporting requirements are met (5500s, SPDs, SMMs, SARs, etc) and other benefits communications in accordance with federal and state legislation.

Assist where needed on other duties assigned

This position is currently open and needs to be filled with an experienced candidate with a years work knowledge and a degree is strongly preferred, but not required if sufficient experience is in place.
