Objective:
As an Advisor Consultant, provide BlackRock asset management capabilities to financial intermediaries as investment recommendations to their clients. Be effective at selling Open-End and Closed-End Mutual Funds as well as Managed Accounts, and act as a liaison between portfolio managers and financial intermediaries.
Responsibilities:
- Generate results and focus on increasing and retaining the firm's assets.
- Work persistently towards mutually agreeable sales and activity goals.
- Demonstrate dedication to the company and colleagues' success and contribute to the group.
- Adapt to change readily by trying new selling approaches, styles and new material in his/her territory.
- Exhibit in-depth knowledge on all funds and products, and have a high level of comfort in communicating this information to Financial Advisors and investors.
- Position and differentiate BlackRock and our products against competitor firms and their products.
- Converse knowledgeable with managers, top producers, and other key personnel in offices about the economy and portfolio management.
- Creatively assist Brokers/FAs in sourcing sales ideas.
- Present effectively in one-on-one, large groups and conferences.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with Financial Advisors. Assist in the training of FAs on building their book of business.
- Create and maintain working relationships with coordinators, FAs, and other key "gate keepers" to maintain access to FAs.
- Partner with branch and regional managers to help promote BlackRock Funds.
- Promote team morale and be open and helpful in working/training with other BlackRock employees.
- Listen to the needs of the FA and shareholder and respond to those needs with clear, concise answers that are understandable.
- Utilize assistance and coordinate with sales desk to augment efforts in the field.
- Read and interpret sales reports and other database information to dissect territory and enhance penetration levels.
Skills:
- 5+ years as an experienced wholesaler.
- Strong financial services background.
- Demonstrated understanding of the equity and bond markets.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Excellent sales and platform skills to provide valued added services to clients.
- Series 7 is required.
- 85% of travel is required.
- Experience training new brokers/employees.
