Position Description Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers, switches and workstations to support the architecture. Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Administers users system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements. Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. Completely understands and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Knowledge of related disciplines such as desktop and network administration highly desired. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Develops solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives. Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions. Receives general direction for work that is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results, reaching erroneous decisions or making recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Interacts frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external/internal customers. Represents the organization by providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Other Job related information Systems/Applications in the following three information technology skill sets will be used in the training center: (1) Network: Cisco switches (4510, 3750), Cisco Call Manager, VLANs, Multicasting; (2) Storage: NetApp storage units, Brocade Fiber switches, HP EML tape units, Symantec NetBackup; (3) Server: HP Blade Servers; VMWare vSphere4, Windows Server 2008 x64, RHEL 5, Group Policies/GPPE Windows Security, Power Shell, User Account administration, DHCP and DNS, Microsoft Exchange 2010, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, McAfee Security Suite (HBSS), HP Network Node Manager, Whats Up Gold.
