The client is a global commodity trading MNC.

The Role

The Vessel Operator will be part of the Regional Operations team and will be responsible to issue voyage instructions/other commercial instructions and generally keep a close liaison to ensure vessel performs as per charter party terms.

You will monitor vessels daily performance at sea and in port to minimize delays, claims and/or disputes, and manage loading and discharging operations to ensure quick turnaround time in port.

By effectively appointing surveyors, agents at ports, you will play a part in assisting the voyage planning, including optimising cargo intake and bunker planning. You will also negotiate claims with owners/charterers or other such stakeholders to maximize voyage profitability.

You will raise Hire Statement, Freight statement, laytime calculation and ensure timely receipts of freight, charter hire, demurrage and other outstanding debts. Also to raise payment to third parties such as agents and brokers. It is important to closely monitor noon reporting on vessels position on a regular basis.

Playing an important support role the Chartering colleagues, you will assist to prepare vessel open position report on daily basis, scheduling for COA cargo, review charter party and follow up for final submission and calculate voyage estimation.

Your Profile

The successful candidate will have at least a Diploma and relevant experience in operations. You will have strong interests and drive to develop yourself within commodity trading.
