Position Description

Global Securities Lending is recognized as a leader in the securities lending marketplace. The group is a market-maker in the lending and borrowing of equity and fixed income securities for client and Firm needs arising from short selling, derivative, arbitrage and settlement activities. Our clients and counterparties include the world's largest hedge funds, index fund managers, custody banks, and institutional investors. BRM is a business unit that spans across both the Fixed Income Division and Equity Division within Morgan Stanley. BRM works closely with our Prime Brokerage as well as our Fixed Income Financing business to service the firm's hedge fund and institutional clients.

Description:

The Sales and Marketing role will reside within BRM Securities Lending Sales and Marketing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to source exclusive, captive supply, secured funding and one-off borrowing opportunities across equity and fixed income products. The goal is to build institutional relationships with our long-only asset owners (corporate and public pensions funds, mutual funds, endowments, foundations etc.)

Responsibilities:

• Work with firm sales teams, trading desks to find diverse sources of supply across beneficial owners
• Work with Firmwide existing sales teams (SRM, PEF, IED, FID) to coordinate and leverage existing relationships
• Establish, manage and report on prospective transactions / relationships
• Coordinate and leverage the sales teams in IED, FID, DSP etc teams to increase awareness and enhance, potential client relationships
• Work with the Securities Lending sales one-off transaction advocate, after on-boarding, to maximize utilization of revenues from one-off transactions
• Coordinate globally and cross-sell transactional lending, emerging market outperformance trade opportunities, secured funding within BRM and the firm, including PB Sales, DSP Sales, PB Client Service, Derivative Sales and IED/FID Sales Trading

Skills Required

• Strong sales, cold calling and sales-closing skills along with articulate concise, oral and written communications
• Aggressive in prospecting potential leads efforts
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team-oriented environment
• Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to work effectively with spreadsheets, pivot tables and powerpoint presentations
• Working well within the firm's organizational structure across tax, legal, operations, risk and client financing, securities lending as well as with our other firm trading desks
