Vice President / Assistant Vice President, Legal – Institutional Banking, Group Legal recruitment

To provide legal advisory and transactional support to Institutional Banking Group, thereby enabling the business group to effectively and proactively manage legal risks.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive, sound, coherent and consistent legal and regulatory advice primarily to Institutional Banking Group
- Review and provide recommendations on the legal, documentation and regulatory aspects, and considerations for the development and deployment of new products and services as well as any key business initiatives
- Establish, review and update internal policies and guidelines to meet best practice industry standards for the management of legal, documentary and regulatory risks
- Provide expert advice on changes and developments of key laws, regulations and contractual issues (including working with Legal and Compliance teams regionally), and recommendations applicable to the business supported
- Establish transaction documents with clients and counterparties promptly to facilitate the relevant business activities
- Manage potential litigation risks
- Provide thematic training
Requirements
- A good degree in law from a reputable university
- At least 5 years experience in legal and regulatory work particularly in relation to the banking lending work
- Knowledge of banking and financial services laws and regulations, banking practices, legal and regulatory best practices and understanding of financial products and systems
- A self-starter with initiative, customer focus, performance and results oriented
