Background: Bachelor’s degree and strong computer skills (MS Office) are basic requirements. Experienced in developing sales / business development strategies and successfully executing them. Senior level sales manager with oversight of teams to develop professional presentations, and present to senior management, when required for the deal. Prepare and submit a compelling and effective proposal. Develop and submit professional proposals and fees.

 

 

Job Purpose:
Oversses the team that builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

Duties:
* Accomplishes business development - implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.

* Develops business development organizational strategies by hiring training and mentoring a professional staff; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to functional strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.

* Develops business development operational strategies by analyzing trends; defining critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; allocating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.

* Develops business development financial strategies by estimating and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

* Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.

* Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.

* Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.

* Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.

* Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.

* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

* Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:

A current resume.

At least fifteen (15) years of experience.

You must currently reside in (or be commutable to) the Chicago Metro / Northern IL area.

Compensation:  $100,000 - $150,000
